Eli & Henley

Yesterday, I babysat Eli and got a taste of having two babies at once. And let me tell you, that was hard. I didn't get one moment of peace the entire time. But, I also loved it. Watching them interact with each other was so wonderful. Eli even kept kissing Henley over and over again. It was so precious, and despite how difficult it was to manage them both I am actually so excited about the thought of maybe seeing Henley interact with a sibling one day.

Eli is such a joy. He is such a content little boy and always has been. I am grateful for his awesome mama and happy that him and Henley can be buds. Although I don't know what Henley's dad would say about all that kissing...

Andrea & Addison

When I first met Andrea I was 38 weeks pregnant and her little girl, Addison, was 6 weeks old. I immediately loved Andrea. She has such a gentle and quiet spirit. She is so loving and she has the biggest heart. When I first saw Addison I burst into tears. Of course, being 38 weeks pregnant definitely had something to do with it, but I also like to think that my heart knew that Addi would come to mean a lot to me. This year we have become good friends and I just love these two. Here are some moments I captured a few weeks ago at the corn maze.

6 Months Old

My girl is 6 months old. She is incredible. She brings me so much joy. She has changed so much so quickly. She has a little personality of her own and I love it. I am soaking up every moment and feel so excited for her future at the same time. As a special half birthday post, I am sharing some less than amazing iPhone camera photos of her from her sixth month! I love you, Henley Esther Brown.

Thankful

This weekend I am thankful for life. I am thankful for my country and the relative safety I feel here. I am thankful for grace never ceasing from the one who saved my soul. I am thankful for the privilege I have to openly worship my Savior without persecution. I am thankful for the privilege I have to make the choices I see fit for myself and my family. I am thankful for a husband who pours out his everything for his family. I am thankful for a daughter who inspires me to lean on my heavenly Father and live each day under His adoring gaze. I am thankful.

What I Am Listening To Lately (With Links)

As I have shared in the past, music is one of the most important things in my life. I find really cool music and I want to share it with you. I will keep this short and sweet. I am not going to explain why I like these albums. I am just going to ask you to trust me. This is good music. Here are the top 4 albums I have been listening to lately, in no particular order.

Bath Time

Time to get real. Being a parent is really hard sometimes and I know I am only getting started. Sometimes you make mistakes. I made a mistake recently. I haven't bathed my girl enough. She didn't really love baths when she was younger so it wasn't made a priority, and I let it go way too long. When she finally had a bath last night she was overjoyed. Before I put her to sleep, I whispered in her ear that I will do better, and I will. So here's to many more evenings splashing in the water and grace upon grace.
